Medium to high resolution VUV spectroscopy

The scientific skills of the group include the study of the rotationally-resolved vibronic excited structure of small molecules and radicals (neutral or cation) investigated with various photon excitation sources at ISMO or on vacuum-ultraviolet plateforms such as SOLEIL synchrotron (DESIRS beamline) and the laser facility of CLUPS laser center. This research activity benefits from a broadly tunable nanosecond-pulsed VUV laser at ISMO which enables new spectroscopic investigations in the range 6-17 eV at very-high resolution (about 10-2 cm-1). This research activity is supported by theoretical developments to model the transition intensities which can also include the treatment of non-rigid molecules.
