CinNapht : a new fluorophore family

by Martrenchard-Barra Séverine - 20 October 2021 (modifié le 23 September 2022)

A collaboration between ICSN, ISMO (SYSTEMAE group) and PPSM has shed light on the spectroscopy and photophysical properties of a new fluorophore family obtained by fusing cinnoline to naphthalimide to give a donor-acceptor system called CinNapht.
This molecule can be synthesized on a gram scale and exhibits a large Stoke shift and good fluorescence quantum yield. The strong solvatochromic effect of the emission (from green to red) can be used in bio-imaging.
