DESCRIPTION
The "Paris-Saclay Plasmonics School", (PS)2 is a biennial school organized by the Institute for the Sciences of Light at Paris-Saclay University. The inaugural (PS)2 (also known as PSM-SP 2021) took place in July 2021 on the Paris-Saclay University campus. This event brought together approximately sixty participants, including Ph.D. students and post-docs, offering them a unique opportunity to interact with leading experts in the field of plasmonics. Renowned speakers from around the world engaged in discussions about fundamental concepts, potential applications, and ongoing research challenges within our scientific community. Building upon the success of its first edition, the 2nd (PS)2 2023 will provide an exceptional introduction to the field for newcomers, as well as for Master's and Ph.D. students, postdocs, and junior researchers. It also offers participants the chance to explore the research laboratories at Paris-Saclay University that are actively involved in the Sciences of Light. During the school, distinguished lecturers will each deliver two one-hour lectures, covering a broad range of topics. These lectures will give the participants the chance to delve into different subject matter. Furthermore, the lecturers will present a 30-minute seminar highlighting their own research, providing valuable insight into cutting-edge topics in the field. Participants will have ample opportunities for informal discussions with the lecturers, as they will be available for post-course interactions during the week. The schedule of the school is designed so as to foster informal interactions among the participants. Shared meal times, including breakfast, will facilitate networking, while generous poster sessions will encourage fruitful discussions and knowledge sharing. Additionally, there will be a dedicated afternoon for on-campus laboratory visits, enabling attendees to gain hands-on experience and witness ongoing research projects. To further enrich the program, a cultural afternoon in Paris will be organized, offering participants a chance to explore this vibrant city and its unique offerings. |
