Mechanical design and engineering
Service composition:
- Jérôme Guigand (Department Manager/Mechanical Studies and Achievements)
- Alexis Marié (Design Studies)
- Jean-Philippe Dugal (Réalisations Mécaniques)
- Hugo Bauduin (Réalisations Mécaniques)
The department has a dual mission:
- Propose, through studies, solutions adapted to the projects and requests of all ISMO teams and departments.
- Respond to requests for mechanical production of experimental parts or assemblies.
A precise study of a project, in close consultation with the requesting parties, generally leads to the most suitable solutions. The power of CAD/CAM software gives us a concrete, realistic vision of experimental assemblies, enabling us to produce standardized assembly and manufacturing drawings, and optimize the manufacture of mechanical parts. In many fields, technology watch enables us to propose original solutions using new techniques or materials.
Since June 2017, we have regrouped in our new building, 520, we are equipped with numerous conventional machines (lathes, milling machines, drilling machines……..) that largely meet conventional manufacturing needs.
We are also equipped with a DMC 835 V 3-axis machining center, as well as a NEF 400 3-axis CNC lathe for complex machining operations in a wide variety of materials. The workshops also boast equipment for conventional welding (arc, braze…….), as well as TIG welding stations for parts or vacuum assemblies.
